It was almost too good to be true when we hired him. I was hoping we could keep him 2-3 years but NC State would be a good opportunity for him. He certainly knows that part of the country very well.

IIRC, Fred said when he hired Lutz he made it clear that at least he wanted Lutz to stay at least 2-3 seasons.

His dad is very ill in Carolina... this is GOOD for Lutz. Quit being selfish. We can get Boylen, formerly from Utah now.

Good luck to Bobby.

I have noo idea how much this hurts us. We don't know if Bobby did everything, or if he only ran the scout team. I'm sure we can hire another good assistant.

Disappointing if true, but I think we all knew his stay in Ames would be short. Be happy for the year of experience Fred gained by working with him and let's bring in another seasoned coach to be Fred's right hand man.

Who's the condescending ******* now?

That's not condescending. I'm not saying I am better than you. I'm saying, you can't not believe something just because you don't want it to be true. Lutz to NC State makes a lot more sense than him not going.
