NFL: Booker back in Chicago

More than a week ago, the Bears, in search of a quarterback, went back to Rex Grossman and gave him a one-year deal. On Tuesday night, down two receivers with the release of Muhsin Muhammad and the loss of Bernard Berrian, Chicago reached an agreement with Marty Booker, the former Bear who spent four seasons in Miami. The 31-year-old Booker was traded to the Dolphins in 2004. He spent the past four years as a Dolphins starter.

In Chicago, Booker had a 100-catch season in 2001 and a 97-catch season in 2002. The Bears hope he can regain some of that consistency because they expect him to start.

God the bears are going to suck! They should of leveraged Briggs to get some offensive players. Briggs is great but and was needed if you were going to contend for a superbowl but they are not and the Bears are in serious rebuilding mode. IMO should have let go of Briggs and brought in offensive threats. Bears have ? marks at the following positions: QB,WR & RB. Thats a formula for a long season!

Which is what I've been saying - even a fantastic defense can't overcome all of those issues. Don't forget, the offensive line is a bit suspect as well.

It is a decent acquisition for a possession type receiver... could have just kept Moose though.

The Bears feel kind of like a listless ship... drifting in the ocean... They found the Super Bowl 2 years ago by luck, and now have drifted far...far... away.
