Yikes. I didn't think Weatherman was going in this one. I thought it was going to be Cozart. Maybe it should have been. I had high hopes for Weatherman at a lower weight. Hopes are being dashed.

Did the pinning, probably. 3 for Finch and 6 points for Sorenson gets us to 9.

Weatherman and Cash gives Army 12, plus 3 for Mayfields decision and 4 for Moreno get them to the 19.

I expected more from Moreno too. This is not looking good, but Spangler and Beard can turn this around.

Gibson had a run in with the law? #@%&! You have got to be kidding me....

The team is going from solid to not so much. Yikes, we are not going to win this one. I like Swope, but not this early in his career. Eric Thompson completely blowing it has really set us back at the heavies.

That is awesome. Must be that sweet goatee. Okay Swope, hope you are wrestling Wes Hand. Still the most exciting heavyweight match I can remember, especially since Iowa lost. Ushered in some Minnesota dominance as well.

At least the 125 hole looks to be better. Still disappointed with Moreno and Weatherman. EIther one of those and we are in the lead. Spangler should fill us out at the top though.

The Benjamin one was great because it won the dual for Minny. All Hand had to do was not get pinned. Ooops!

Tyler Christensen won in OT at hwt for ISU final 23-22 Army no excuse for that we had 3-4 starters out but still no excuse our guys should handle them. The back ups did well the guys down in the lower weights with the excption of Ryak need some help.

I thought Terukina might get a shot at 133. What about Jones moving up a weight? Also hope that Goettl can come out on top at 141. And Weatherman, yikes.

Really the only weight that was hurt by the starter being out was 174. It would have been enough, but we need to win some matches at 157 and 149 this year, not continue to get drilled.

Unbelievable that we lose to Army. WTH is with Weatherman just rolling over again this year???? Any updates on the Boston dual would be appreciated - not finding anything online.

I am sorry but after the press conference I expected better. To start off losing like this is just ridiculous. We are not wrestling traditional powers either. How many years do we have to wait to at least be top ten again? two injury defaults? I thought we wouldn't be giving up weights so much this year, but that sunk us in the Boston match. Is Jackson recruiting wrestlers made of glass? This is not the way to start the season.

Injuries and Gibson killed us this weekend.

Moreno and Mayfield injured in dual
Spangler, Ward, Gadsen, T. Voelker, and Simonson injured prior to duals
Gibson get a public intox 1 week before the opening duals

Glad we didn't waste Tyler Swope redshirt this weekend.

Boaz looks tough as did Finch and Sorenson.

I'm hoping these weight cuts are giving us some early trouble and we can get them under control.

Interested to see Jones get to 133 and how he competes with Cash.

Great win by England over #5 Hunter Meys of Boston.

Any idea on what the Moreno and Mayfield injuries were? Are they out for the season or out for a week?

Also, it sure sucks that we have so many injuries that we had to toss a back-up 184 pounder at heavyweight. Nice to see that Shafer can hold his own at 197 if we need to keep him there.

I really hope we can get healthy for Oklahoma and Iowa coming up. Ward and Gadson aren't as huge of a deal because Beard and Shafer are still quality guys (and Beard might end up starting over Ward anyways), but as today showed, we can't afford to have half of our lineup out due to injury and also have their backups either injured or suspended.
