This is peak CMC scenario. Young team, fired up for its bowl game. Enemy territory road game. This is where we tend to do well.
* Memphis only fills about 50-60% of stadium for home games
Thanks for the heads up! Just snagged one. See you there!!Get Tiger Lane Parking Passes, great for tailgating. 10x10 grass area and electric hookup for all spots. Already bought 2.
FYI - a lot of great things to do in Memphis, but this is a must do in my opinion. Have gone each bowl trip and will go back again this time.
Rendezvous? The Sun studio tour is REALLY great as well. Easy to walk to from the downtown hotels. The Civil Rights Museum is also really well done. We've done both twice and enjoyed them both times. There's a good BBQ place near the Civil Rights museum.
Rendezvous?
No, that's also good. I'll look up the name of it at some point. I have a cup from there.
The more I think about this, the more I would feel pissed if I was Memphis.
You know half the fun of a bowl game is to go somewhere. They get none of that. I can't imagine half the memphis fans will stay in hotels or more than a night. just don't get it.
Central BBQ is directly behind the National Civil Rights museum. Rendezvous is for tourists, if you want good BBQ go to central.Rendezvous?
I’ve done the tailgate party and yes, alcohol is included-all you can drink!Has anyone gone to the pre-game tailgate party before? I see tix are $52 which includes food - is alcohol included or available?
It’s where the locals go.Central BBQ. Some best ribs I’ve had.
And I think Memphis has a couple of starters that already entered the portal. Their starting RG and K. They won't be full strength either. Bowl games are just more glorified exhibitions than they ever used to be these days. The only guy who could potentially sit out is Tampa. Unsure of Verdon's injury status but for end of season that's about as close to 100% a team can get.
WVU/Big 12 must’ve caught wind that would be an option and made it happen. Would love to trade spots.West Virginia did not get selected for a Big 12 tie in bowl and ends up playing in the Dukes Mayo Bowl against UNC, how in the world did that happen?
This.Playoff committee: SEC is obviously the top conference, top to bottom, we can’t leave out their champion
SEC: fails to qualify enough 6-win teams for their bowl tie-ins
