The gist of his quote was, Texas's recruiting pitch to him was all about how he could promote himself and make the most money on his NIL if he went there. Veneble's pitch for OU to him was, come here and get ready for the next level and win a national title. The recruit said the decision was easy. He told the Texas recruiter, "but what are you doing to fix the program?" He went on to say that high school/college athletes basing their decisions off short term money are fooling themselves. The real money is in the long run with the programs that build you as a player, leader, and educated human being. The money you'll make from those things will dwarf the college cash
