When you return as many kicks as they did, you're bound to break one.

Leonard Johnson has the record for kick return yardage in a single game with 319 yards. ISU lost 59-17.

Thats awesome and sad in the same breath.

Didn’t Chris Ash stay on as DB coach for a year? If so he had a really good career trajectory until he made the unthinkable decision to become the HC at Rutgers.

I think he was at Rhoads era before going to Wisconsin
I looked it up. He was on Mac’s staff and then accepted an offer from Chizik to stay on. He then moved on to San Diego State prior to the season. He then came back for the first year of Rhoads’ first season.

To be honest, I would have liked to have kept MacFarland. Arnaud and the offense was showing some life at the end of the last year.

THerman’s offense at the time got us nowhere, as we did not have the personnel for it. After that, the offensive instability just ruined CPR’s tenure.

Don't knock the bubble screen until you've tried it 400 times unsuccessfully and just keep running it even though our receivers couldn't block and we didn't have the skill players to run it in the first place!

Not exactly sure.

The bubble screen works if after a few you run a couple draws off it and/or pump fake and send the blocker deep after faking a whiffed block. We just keep running the bubble and not taking advantage of the changing defense.

Mcfarland brought an interesting offense.
Set up, look to the sideline, look back at the defense and get called for delay or false start. Call timeout and repeat. I dont know if thats entirely accurate but thats what it felt like.

Didn't a CPR team do this kind of stuff? They seemed to have a throwing darts approach to picking scheme every season.

Haha, that was very accurate. Sadly I missed that offense when Messingham and Mangino we’re here.

Or years of running a zone read where the QB actually runs the ball 1 out of very 100 attempts. #trickeration
