Feel like the kid deserves his own thread. #10 ranked kid in the class of 2025 and a future 125/133. He’s also a u17 world silver medalist. Heck of a pickup for the staff and a major boost to our 2025 class!

Awesome news!

Bringing in Villaescua, getting a commit from Ech, and bringing in Yonger definitely helped restart that pipeline.
Douglas won a title for ASU before coming to ISU and brought in some great Arizona guys in the Gallicks.

Nice, super important to have strong performances at the lower/higher bound weights.
For years it was so frustrating to watch the Iowa/Iowa State dual and have ISU down and practically out of the meet after the first 3 weights. It seemed like Iowa could always get quality at the lower weights and ISU struggled for decades there. That momentum was real. Other wrestlers felt like they had to not only win, but gain bonus points for the team. Often this lead to mistakes and the problem snowballing.

I realize they don't always start at the lower weights anymore but often do and having strength there can help that momentum start in the right direction.

What an awesome get!

Nando is a great person to have in the program. He does a lot of things very, very well for this team

Just to add to my previous post it is also great to get quality guys at 125 specifically. Either they are there for their career or more likely they move up a weight before they are through. Nice to have an upper classman at those weights since a lot of programs will have to have a guy who is a sophomore or freshman there since their other guy has grown a bit before they graduate. Having a senior competing night in and night out against freshmen and sophomores is good place to be.

Great news! Looks like we have a couple potential great ones coming in at this weight. Other than Andrew Long in 2010, how long has it been since we had an All-American at the lightest weight? 25 years? Longer?
