Agree completely.I assume they don't want people to think of them as a directional school. They should have reverted to their original name of Florida Tech.

My guess it is similar to TCU, where the school identifies with the acronym and not what the acronym stands for.I'm pretty sure they hate being called "Central Florida" but idk why
UCF is preferred from what I've seen elsewhere
They are Space U although I always get confused when they wear those uniforms cause they look kind of Carolina blue at timesNot gonna lie
Florida Tech sounds pretty kick ass
It's about 2 1/2 hours away, but no, am not going.@MeanDean you close enough to be going to this game?
Yeah that’s a bit of a hike. I thought this wasn’t going to be a very good game, but given who they have beaten, it very well could be.It's about 2 1/2 hours away, but no, am not going.
When my son was in grad school, the students could go to everything for free. They did have to sign up for the football ticket before each game just in case too many might want to go. He was sports obsessed so it was great it didn’t cost anything. My freshman UCF son lives literally directly across the street from their basketball arena and two blocks from the football stadium. But he's so sports-apathetic that he'll probably never attend a UCF game during his time there. What a waste of his primo location.
I've been to Blue Springs State Park. It is beautiful. I'm planning on staying close to campus as I do not want to rent a car & will be walking or Ubering.I prefer the UCF area. It’s a super easy drive from there to the Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach. Really short drive to Blue Springs State Park and the manatees. There’s a cool free Vietnam War Museum nearby. But I prefer outdoor stuff to downtowns.
