Bathrooms were a serious issue during DMB at Principal. All I did was stand in beer line and bathroom line while listening to DMB in the background.

Still, it was great weather and a nice venue. Just need some logistics cleaned up.

Also, at least indoor, you're guaranteed a dry concert. When he came 5 years ago, it was September which is a much drier month than June.

I just took the day off. Last time he played in Des Moines, apparently people forgot how to use the restroom at local establishments. "Looks like the ******* is full, better just use the trashcan for that." Not exactly something I'd like to deal with on June 30.

Are their concerts still a big attraction for the frat/bro crowd? I always liked their music. First time I saw them was back in 1995 in Davenport at a gymnasium, but when they got real big in the late 90s/early 00s, the concerts became more of a drunkfest than anything.

I would guess the mid-30's former Frat bro crowd personally :jimlad:

Can't say I saw a lot of that type the last time he was in Des Moines. There were a few drunken messes but no more than what you would expect to see at any outdoor concert in September. It was a good show. They've been playing together for so long now that while I wouldn't say they're on auto pilot, they're definitely in the "play the hits, make 'em happy, and onto the next show" phase. It makes me feel old to say it, but they're something of a nostalgia act now. I could be wrong but I'd guess they're not really big in the 18-35 demographic.

There should be a DMB concert predictions thread.

Prediction: a 37-year old former Beta Sigma Phi will show up in flip flops, get drunk on Bud Light with Lime, and engage in a spirited debate with other concert-goers about whether Crash or Under the Table and Dreaming is a better album. After the show, he will visit Mullets and entertain patrons with tales of how many chicks he bagged before taking that job with Wells Fargo and doing the wife and kids thing.

Saw him in Ames when I was in 7th grade, and a junior in college. Also saw him in DSM when he came a few years ago as well. I know how people see DMB "people" but they are musically good and entertaining. Live at Central Park is an all time favorite of mine. I think DMB and Jimmy Buffett fans fall into the boat of other people who don't like their music tend to dislike the fans. I fall into a fan and mutli-concert goer of both.
