Does ISU have any famous fans?

Former football player Kurtis Taylor was the winning Kentestant from the show "Genuine Ken: The Search for the Great American Boyfriend" hosted by Whitney Port.

Fashion mogul Todd Snyder graduated from Iowa State.

He's a big supporter of the fashion program at ISU and hires many ISU grads. I only know this because my sister was one of them. When we played in NYC a few years back he took all thr ISU grads to the game.

I don’t think one can count athletes. I think the OP was thinking celebrity types?

For those in the twin cities, anchor Randy Shaver is an ISU grad

I think Zach Bryan is an OK State fan, but wears ISU stuff when playing in Iowa out of Big 12 solidarity.

I'm pretty sure Nick Nolte is a Cyclone fan and is known to go to Jack Trice quasi-incognito.
Nick Nolte has several direct, close connections to ISU. Wish he would have worn some ISU swag during some of his movies (48 Hrs), but probably didn't have the power to pull that off at that time.

Author Jane Smiley taught at ISU from 1981-1996. She is a Pulitzer winner and several best sellers. I tore up her bathroom once . . . . literally. She hired me to demolish it on the cheap so an actual contractor could remodel it.

I always liked the comedy of Jake Johannsen but didn't realize that he went to Iowa State. And he's also just my age. Per Wikipedia he started out in Vet Med and switched to Chem E. It's kind of coincidental that he does a spiel about the vet in this comedy routine.

I've never heard of him before. That's pretty funny!

Not to buzzkill this but Terry Anderson and Thomas Sutherland, hostages in Lebanon, went to ISU. I was at the on-campus vigil for them. Terry was held the longest of all the hostages, thus more "famous", and that was a detriment to him as they kept him hostage while freeing others.

I don't know if it counts as famous, but isn't the founder of Hooters an ISU alum?

I grew up with Todd. Junior high, high school, DMACC, and ISU. His dad owned Snyder Engineering in Ankeny for years until he unexpectedly died in the late 90s. Good peeps.
