if i remember right, the 5th spot is for a team with a bad week, but isn't really in the bottom ten. Last week did suck.

Yeah, last week we played like a bottom 10 team. We aren't overall, but we were last week.

Also the quote isn't that we're a bottom 10 team, just that we're unlikely to go bowling. Let's prove that prediction wrong today!

Well, we had an awful game AND lost our leader which does not set us up well to play for a bowl qualifying upset. Given how good things looked coming out of the Kansas game, things got gloomy for us in a hurry.

this was from the preseason bottom 10:

(Bottom 10 reminder: The No. 5 spot is reserved for the high-profile team that had the worst week -- or in this case, the worst offseason.)

We would mop the floor with any of those other teams. Illinois is the other head-scratcher on that list. They are taking Northwester out at the moment. This looks like typical analysis based on a teams name rather than a teams ability. Nice work ESPN.

We should be. That was an embarrassing loss last weekend.

No we shouldn't be mentioned among bottom ten of 120 teams.

Computer polls all have us in the top half of those teams. Is it bottom 60 or bottom 70?

We took a top ten team into OT two weeks ago, beat Texas Tech, NIU and Texas.

Just a stupid theme.

If we don't pull it off today and finish 5-7, it just means we failed to reach .500 with the toughest schedule in the nation. Not the end of the world or "bottom 10" by any stretch of the imagination.

Enough with the "toughest schedule in the nation" nonsense. Utah has turned out to be disappointing. Texas is having an horrendous year. Iowa has 3 losses and should have 4. OU is the only really good team that we've played so far and we got smoked by them. The CU loss was embarrassing and if you hadn't noticed, ESPN's Bottom 10 includes teams that have recently had a bad or embarrassing performance. We definitely deserve mention this week.

You may want to say "lighten up" to any ISU fan who thinks ISU deserves to be in the bottom ten even after their worst game of the year.

I shrugged off the CU game minutes after the loss and have been excited to take down Missouri for a week now. Why have any other approach to being a fan?
