You only need to go in 2 inches which should be a relief for most on this site.
Thats all the further I could go, where it needed more or not.You only need to go in 2 inches which should be a relief for most on this site.
Well it IS cold. So have to compensate for shrinkage.Thats all the further I could go, where it needed more or not.
agreed. i feel like if i try to get too cute and time it right, im going to be late. Id rather be two weeks too early and have to do a second app, than be a week late.I just applied fast acting lime. I‘m putting down spectricide next week-end whether the soil temp is 55 or not.
You'd be better off to get it down before the rain so it can be watered in. You also want to be looking at 2" soil temps for lawns rather than 4". The vast majority of Iowa is at or above 50 degrees at this point. Here is a great website for tracking the trends and checking 2" temp. Not quite 50 yet in my county on the newest soil temp map but I am going to get my crabgrass preventer down tonight or tomorrow after the rain.
Narrow landing strips are hard to fertilize. Some go the atrazine method and have no lawn.I haven't read the whole thread but I'm going to be incredibly disappointed if @CoachHines3 or somebody hasn't made the joke "I tried to fertilize my wife's lawn last night".
