Because they are in a tournament for the 65th best team in the country.

That's freaking hilarious. If you made that stuff up somebody would accuse you of making it up. Or however that saying goes.

In fairness if ISU was going to the NIT title game we'd think it was pretty cool too and love the "extra games" to develop our talent.

edit - i'd rather have ISU win the NIT than get knocked out in the "first four round".

NIT preseason tourney, that is

I keep hearing Hawks fans talk about a NIT? What is it?

I surely know if ISU were in the NIT I wouldn't expect anyone outside of central Iowa to care...

They'll probably claim Pollard's violations release was to steal their thunder.:twitcy:

To be fair I would cheer for ISU and want them to win, but I would not be running around/posting bragging about it because I know it is the "also-rans" tournament.

This is a good argument to have.

Making the NCAA Tournament without a play-in, dominating a 7 seed, and playing the most entertaining game of the tournament against a 2 seed is without question >>>>>>>> winning the NIT.

Hawks, however, think that is a good argument to have.

Heck, Alfraud's EIU tenure and Pierre Pierce's "violations" are still probably more news-worthy than their NIT run.

Actually if you include the playin games arent there 66 teams?
64 teams are in the 2nd round games. That means that 4 teams didn't make the 2nd round (were defeated in the play-in games). So, 68 total teams make the NCAA tourney.

From what I could tell last night, ESPN cared more about 3 other things including Women's NCAA over NIT games. I literally have to go to the Men's basketball page and click on NIT scores to see it mentioned anywhere. No one cares.

Iowa fans need to understand more people watch Pawn Stars reruns than watch the NIT. More people watched one of ISU's tourny games than watched every Iowa game in the NIT.
