How to stay dry in the rain

Ahh - but we are humans, and we care more about perceived dryness, not actual dryness.

I would hypothesize that people could be less dry overall but feel more dry if more of their surface area is dry.

In other words, I would sacrifice the top of my head and my shoulders getting more wet if I can keep the rest of me dry.

I also just thought about puddles if you're running. Though I suppose most of the time there aren't sufficient puddles to make a difference.
