FPI had Iowa's 16th and Iowa State's 11th. I don’t think people realize how watered down schedules have become with the size of these conferences, SEC only playing 8 conference games, some teams playing exclusively cupcakes in nonconference
Any division that can be won with the shitwiches BF serves up every week is not a real football division.LOL there's no polishing the turd that is the B1G west.
But they have an "elite" defense, the numbers point it out, says every EIU fan.Good win at Wisconsin. Here is Iowa's remaining schedule according to today's SP+: (Offense/Defense Ranking included)
#37 Iowa (121/1):
#56 Minnesota (77/36)
Nuetral site - #95 Northwestern (110/73)
#52 Rutgers (76/32)
#58 Illinois (80/33)
@ #53 Nebraska (87/21)
Only one true road game coming home
#40 Iowa State (90/12) - 90 on offense is skewed to our first 3 duds, all three conference wins are to top 50 defenses in the country:
@ #71 Baylor (65/71) - Baylor's offense is better than any Iowa will face until Indy... How is that possible
#38 KU (13/90)
@ #65 BYU (62/63)
#5 Texas (7/11)
@ #21 KSU (12/39)
I get more and more jealous every day of the Charmin Soft Big 10 West...

Reality it's a very good defense playing crappy offenses week after week to skew the numbers. The special teams are elite though, which helps out the defense even more.

Iowa state got a tough draw in big 12. No Houston, UCF, and play all the top teams in the conference. A team like Kansas State though got some scheduling breaks. They have Texas and pretty much the rest is Big Ten West type. The thing with Big Ten West is someone gets to win it which is a reward I guess. As far as the schedule though after a crossover against one of the power 3 in the East or sometimes 2 like Iowa had last year their schedule is no different than most teams.Good win at Wisconsin. Still not daunting. Big Penix Energy will be gone from Washington and Tuas lil bro I'm not sure if he's back at Maryland next year. And no more Marvin Harrison Jr at OSU either.Iowa's 2024 schedule according to today's SP+:
Illinois St (Doesn't rank FCS)
#40 ISU (90/12)
#46 Troy (83/22) - TROY has a higher SP+ than the entirety of Iowa's remaining 2023 schedule.........
Not conference order yet...
#53 Nebraska (87/21)
#95 Northwestern (new coach)
#4 Washington (1/28)
#25 Wisconsin (49/13)
@ #32 Maryland (42/27)
@ #55 Michigan St (new coach)
@ Minnesota (77/36)
@ #2 Ohio St (10/4)
@ #23 UCLA (55/10)
Iowa plays 5 teams in the top 55 of offense in 2024. That does not include ISU or if the new Michigan St or Northwestern coaches bring better offense to the program.
The mind Olympics hawk fans play about their schedule never ceases to amaze me.
Wisconsin is about as solid as the W on their helmets...solid.Road wins are never easy. Wisconsin is a solid team
To be fair I honestly haven't seen many Iowa fans claim to be good or beat their chests outside of the absolute morons on Twitter. I know all of my Iowa friends think it's an absolute joke.IDK, the Big 10 record against the team's they have beat is pretty impressive:
0-3 Michigan St
1-3 Purdue
2-1 Wisconsin (wins over Rutgers and Purdue)
Soon to be 1-3 Minnesota
That is a combined record of 4-10 for their opponents conference wins before 11/4 at Wrigley Field. Hilarious how Hawk fans are blinded by the dog$hi* divisional records.
To be fair, you must not live in Eastern Iowa. I hear it EVERY SINGLE DAY . . . .To be fair I honestly haven't seen many Iowa fans claim to be good or beat their chests outside of the absolute morons on Twitter. I know all of my Iowa friends think it's an absolute joke.
The Big easy East is heads and shoulders above the West, with annually the top three teams in the conference being on the east side.Iowa state got a tough draw in big 12. *Or work with Panther Hawks. They are FAR louder than Iowa fans who graduated from the schoolTo be fair, you must not live in Eastern Iowa. I hear it EVERY SINGLE DAY . . . .
Why do you gotta bring Hawkize into this?*Or work with Panther Hawks. They are FAR louder than Iowa fans who graduated from the school
