He is very active on both ends of the floor even when the 3 point shot isn't falling. Good defensive, rebounds well, not afraid to attack the basket. Sometimes he has mixed results when driving but he is getting better in my opinion. Not just a 'catch and shoot' guy.

As President of the Matt Thomas Fan Club I would like let everyone know the only correct answer to the OP is "yes."

Absolutely. Can point to several games we absolutely do not win without his improvements. So glad his hard work is paying off for him and Cyclone basketball.

Yes. There really isn't another option.

I would agree, he is playing with so much more confidence this year on both ends of the floor. His defense is what really is helping the team. but those top of the key threes are a thing of beauty to watch him shoot.

I'm not a Doug Gottlieb fan at all, but feel like his piece on Matt also really helped, seemed almost freeing for Matt.

The best part is his confidence. Started 0-5 on Monday but didn't stop him from shooting.

Yes. He's been consistently good on almost all aspects, particularly the little (big) unnoticed things like rebounding, ball security and defense. Add to that that he stepped up at a critical time when Naz went out and really filled those shoes, it's a no brainer.

I'd been hard on Thomas (or at least extremely annoyed with the fanbase acted towards him) before this year, but he's the unquestioned most improved and a legitimate asset.

As could Niang, as ridiculous as that is. But Matt clearly is the most improved of the improved players.

Yeah, I think it is Thomas, but Niang has improved a bunch too, but since he was already so good it is harder to notice.

Also, maybe people can remember this (they won't) when ragging on a freshman or even sophomore. People improve. That's part of the point of hard work and playing at a higher level.
