Lost in all this — ISU is tied for first in Big 12. A loss there, we would have been sixth.

If you want to win titles, it's best to avoid getting in a hole — plus you pick up a road conference win, vs. a ranked team, too — in a game that could have gone the other way easily.

Yep! And it guarantees that next Saturdays ISU vs. Kansas game will be for at least a share of the Big XII conference lead.

I think this was Hoibergs best job of game coaching I have seen. That zone the last 5 minutes was perfect.

I must have been watching a different game than you. There were some missed/bad calls, but equally for both teams, imo.

I didn't think the refs had any impact on the outcome.

Iowa State was called for TWICE as many fouls as they commit in an average game. There were 50 fouls called!!! We'd had 1 player foul out in the first 13 games, and 2 tonight.

Those are not the hallmarks of a well-officiated game.

Different guy every time!!! Thank you Abdel Nader!!! Clutch free throws!!!

As much as I have been cursing Nader the last few game and even many times earlier tonight (in my best dumb and dumber voice) he went and totally redeemed himself. At one point early I said out loud "what the f... does fred see in this guy"..... I guess I got my answer. Dude has come up with some big plays twice on the road now to get us the win.

Someone mentioned our having three starters in foul trouble.

Are we still adapting to tackle basketball?

I'll go out on a limb and say that's the only game in Monte's ISU career that he will foul out.

Best win of the year. That is a really good 'Eers team. How many wins on the road has ISU had against ranked teams?

agreed...it's almost impossible that the pressing team had 4 less fouls than the non press team. Ridiculous officiating. Wouldn't have blamed them if we lost....but they didn't help.

Nice win. Even with lots of assets not fully utilized . . . because of fouls.

I don't think the refs were bad. This is the first time this season Iowa State has tried to take away all the inside shots and give up the good three looks.

That said, commend our guys for stepping up when people got in foul trouble!
Biggest win so far this season!

When they showed the replay of Thomas getting trapped at mid court and calling a timeout, the replay showed he clearly just whacked MT's forearm. no foul.
