Aww man. That guy was def a fighter. Tough to read something like this.
What a sad deal. It sounds like he was a great guy with a great family. And he was obviously a great Cyclone.
Seemed like he was an absolute fighter. Had so many things he had to battle through. I’ll miss seeing him on Twitter and seeing him at the games.

Don't know Nick, but followed his journey and I'm absolutely heartbroken after reading that. He was fighter to the end!
Man that's some tough news. Nick was definitely a fighter.
Very sad. Seemed this past surgery really was too hard on him. I'll miss seeing him every football Saturday with his parents.

I hate to hear this. Nick was a fighter and somehow was able to keep an upbeat never quit attitude. I've tailgated next to him and his family multiple times and they are all great people. RIP brother you will be missed.

It was obvious Nick was such a great person. His love of the Cyclones was front and center. We could all learn from him and his positive attitude in even the toughest times.
Dang. Truly inspirational to see someone get dealt that many blows and remain as positive and as resilient as he did. Certainly puts some of the World's more minor problems in perspective when you'd see what he was going through while maintaining hope and optimism. A Cyclone through and through.
What an inspiration to fight to the end no matter the odds. RIP to a great Cyclone fan and person.
