ISU vs. Iowa Post game thread

Terrific improvement in rebounding and defense for "on-the-ball" screens.

They looked comfortable on offense, but like anything still needs work.

I'm still surprised we didn't see as much pressure on the ball and pressing from Iowa, but we'll take whatever the defense gives us.

Great game.

Someone mentioned a sell-out crowd, but there were certainly empty seats at the upper level.

Today I saw a team who was very well coached, and made strides of progress over the past week. You could tell McD worked with his team on boxing out and rebounding (as it was needed).

I was most impressed with the improvement of ball movement by our guards, and could also tell McD had some emphasis on this in practice.

I believe we are seeing Garret start to take over Peterson's role, and he is going to be great if he can develop his shot.

I post this mainly because what I saw today was an indicator of us having a great coach, and for people to watch the Drake game, and watch the change in the team. To all of you who are already questioning McD (I saw this all week), I hope you think twice. McD is working with very little, and no coach in the entire NCAA could do anything more with our talent and loss of players.

I give mad props to our Cyclones, and our coaches for a great win, and their hard work.

All I want to say is THANK YOU! There are many fairweather fans that will cheer for ISU when they are doing well but quick to turn away when they struggle, just give them time, they will be great!

LOL, ok I had to share this. Check out under the comments section of my lastest post: Juice blogs » The Cyclones Our good buddy Den is basically saying Iowa got all the calls. That's a stretch, we did shoot 17 more FT's but I thought we got hosed a few times too and for the most part it was a pretty evenly called game. I didn't hear much about the officiating so wanted to get your thoughts?

They could have called moving screens on Iowa all night. It was a physical game, but I thought it was well called.

Well, maybe with the exception of the Brackins non call on Peterson. He flat out just smoked him there.

Sell out simply means all tickets have been purchased. With the weather the way it was, I'm not suprised that some people didn't end up going.

Alford says it's no fun facing mentor Knight
