Bridget didn't stuff the box score, but she played quite well in a solid win for the Lynx.
If it's like previous years that I watched the offense seemed to always run on the opposite side of the court from where she was. Hardly ever touched the ball. The ball was hardly ever passed her way. Hard to score if you don't see the ball.

It wasn't completely like that, but it's clear the Lynx consider her a defensive specialist, which is unexpected for someone who was almost our career scoring leader and never particularly known for her defense.

At the end of the game when it was very close, the Lynx would sub her in on defense and out on offense as much as possible.

I might be remembering wrong (and I really only started following closely Carleton's senior year), but I thought Carleton's defense was part of what made her all-around game so impressive. The way I remember, she often guarded the opponent's best player unless it was a difficult size or quickness matchup. And looking at the stats, she also led the team in both blocks and steals her sophomore, junior, and senior years. Granted, that was all on Iowa State teams that weren't necessarily known for their defense, but it still doesn't seem too shocking to me that her defense is one of her best attributes in the WNBA.

I don't disagree with any of this -- she was a solid defender in college and probably the best defender on the team. But she never had that reputation outside ISU; she never made the Big 12 All-Defensive Team, for example. Some of that is likely because of the bolded part.

Both Dallas and Minnesota played (and won) today.
Joens with 2 rebounds in 2 minutes
Carleton with 14 points on 4-10 from 3 and 6 rebounds

Great performance tonight by Carleton. I wonder if that's her most points scored this year? I always thought BC had enough pro style skills to make it in the WNBA. I also was a little uncertain about Ashleys style being successful in the pros. So far she hasn't produced much but sitting on the bench most of the time is a hard place to produce..

Ashley with another DNP on Tuesday night at Phoenix, in a 15 point Wings win. Eleven players dressed and nine got double digit minutes, with two DNP (Ash and 2nd year guard Jasmine Dickey). This has to be a difficult adjustment for a competitor who’s rarely left the court her entire life! It appears she’s clearly the last player on the bench, which could get dicey once Lou Senechal and Diamond DeShields return to health.

Haven't heard anything from local alumni group about getting together when Wings come to to Mpls in August. Will have to check with who was going to follow up on that.

I don’t think the Wings know what they are doing.
