There's absolutely no way we're going to be in the field in April up here. If May is dry, we'll get everything in fine, but there ain't much margin for wet weather once it warms up.

We have a shot for the tail end of April if things warm up. But I'm focused more on May at this point. I need to get the last couple of years out of my head and remember that I started planting corn on May 3rd in 2014.

Not exactly sure.

We didn’t get planting done until the first week of May the last two years and the year both were record corn yields. I have manure that needs to be applied, normally April 7-10 it happens, that makes me nervous now.

Positive note is that X amount of snow equals 1 inch of rain, so it's basically like just getting more rain, except everything's a mess and plants and trees can't blossom and it's been around for 4 ****ing months already.

This is payback for the unseasonably warm days of Nov and Dec of 2017. I recall riding the trail in early Dec in about 60ish degree weather. Still sucks though, I'm done with the Iowa weather, when the kids graduate in a few years I'm moving south.

Yeah, we were May 6th that year, and things worked out.

It will end eventually, so remember these days and enjoy the warmth of summer when it comes. Too often people complain about their immediate surroundings. These are the times you remember when you think of complaining about it being too hot. It’s what makes the warm weather in the Midwest so awesome, knowing it doesn’t last forever.
This sucks, I hate it, and everyone's going to hear about it. Besides, **** weather is one of the few subjects we can all agree on and ***** about together.

Colder than last summer? I don't remember how 2014 played out, but I remember 2013 getting damn hot come August, and that was a year with a cold, wet spring.

I have a date in my head that I will be happy if I have any seed in the ground by. That date continually gets moved back. I can live with a late April, what I can't live with is a disastrous May like 2013.

Wanna talk prevent plant? :)
