If you are a fan of music charts (specifically, Billboard, but any of them, honestly), you might know the name Joel Whitburn. He founded his company, Record Research, in 1970 to publish the music chart histories from Billboard magazine. He covered all major genres and eventually spread out to cover not just Billboard, but Cashbox, Radio & Records, Record World, etc. I have about twenty of his books from the past thirty years or so since I bought my first one. Whitburn passed away early this morning after an illness. Hopefully Record Research will continue to publish (I'm still waiting on them to put out a Cashbox Country Singles book) even after he's gone.

I need to get that book of Hot 100 charts from the 1970s since it's on sale. I have the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s. (Edit to update: I bought it for $30 off. Yes, those books are expensive, but they're also invaluable reference tools.)
