I am planning a bachelor party in Kansas City and I am not familiar with the City at all. What would be some good recommendations for activities, bars, clubs, restaurants, casinos etc. The groom is not a fan of beer, would be more open to distilleries/spirits, he loves sports (royals games have very limited tickets available). We're fresh out of Iowa State so the general consensus would be bars and clubs that feel more similar to a college bar than something more laid back. Night time activities are obviously going to revolve around the bars and clubs but I am really struggling to find things to fill the daytime. Any advice would be really appreciated.

Top Golf for daytime.
Westport bars are your college-ish jam.

I went down to KC for mine during the B12 tourney a few years back. We had a blast at top golf and it’s pretty inexpensive depending on how many people you have. We stayed for like 6 hours that Saturday.

We had an absolutely phenomenal Airbnb down by the Power and Light district. Rooftop patio, newly renovated, slept at least 8 and was cheaper than what we could get two hotel rooms for. It was like a block or two off the tram.

Perfect! We've got an Airbnb set up a little north of downtown for a great price(the house happens to be owned by two Iowa State Alums). Top Golf is on our list of things to do!

Power and light is fine. But there are other places in town.

Tom's Town is a good distillery in the Crossroads area. They do a small tour, and there's a nice bar. That whole area has some good places. Manifesto is a very cool speakeasy in that part of town. It's down in a basement and you can only access it from the back alley. The whole place is lit with only tea candles, so it's very, very dark. Totally worth it.

The Westport area is also cool. Q39 is great for food, but there are a ton of bars in that area.

SD Strong is another distillery, north of town a little ways. It actually is in a cave, like a quarter mile under ground. Not a bad trip, and something to see.

Pierponts at Union Station is a good place to grab a drink, as well.

I second all of these, but check on Manifesto to see if it has reopened, it was temporarily closed down last I heard. Tom’s town has a pretty good vibe, it’s not a college bar but it’s pretty upbeat for a distillery.

Rieger's Distillery just opened a new facility with tours, tasting room, etc. east of downtown. Chicken N Pickle just across the river north of downtown has sports bar, yard games, pickle ball courts and you can reserve patio spaces, etc for different size groups.

Do you know if the PBR bar is the same as the one in St. Louis? I've had an absolute blast at that one before.
Not for sure but judging by the description, yes.

Country bar, mechanical bull, dance floor, hot girls on bulls.
I’ve only been on Big 12 weekends when it’s packed but it was always a good time.

Manifesto closed when The Rieger did. The thought is a permanent closing.

Distilleries in the downtown/Crossroads area are all pretty good. Tom's Town is good, but on the pricier side. Lifted Spirts is fantastic for all around drinks (City Barrel is a brewery with excellent food by Lifted Spirits, think Barn Town style). Mean Mule is an Agave distillery and they make fantastic tequila. Food hall right in the area called Parlor that is fantastic and a great bar and party atmosphere.

SoT is one of my favorite nice cocktail bars in Crossroads. Depending on group size and COVID this may be tougher to get into.

Power and Light is probably your go-to for a bachelor party as you'll be able to wander a bit more. Westport is fine, but wouldn't be walking distance if you stay downtown and generally has a few shootings each summer as it gets warmer.

During the day I would recommend Top Golf, T-Shotz (similar to Top Golf and just opened), axe throwing (Blade and Timber), No Other Pub (bowling, golf bays, drinking games, shuffleboard, but is currently closed for COVID).

Some good steak places if that is your jam. Also got to hit up BBQ. Joe's is one of my personal favorites. Slaps is right up there also that few out of KC people talk about as it is in KCK. Q39 is good and Jack Stack is fine, but are more of a formal dining setting.

I live in downtown KC now. Feel free to message me if you have any questions.
