Hopefully some of you will find this interesting. For several years now a group of friends and I have done a Big 12 fantasy basketball pool. Only conference games count. I found the point scoring online somewhere. This is what we use. Points = 1, Rebounds = 1.2, Assists = 1.5, Steals = 2, Blocks = 2, Turnovers = -1. I have a spreadsheet that totals up the fantasy points for each player based on the stat line from each game. There are 7 of us in the pool and we pick 8 players in a standard snake style draft. This year I had the first pick (not really where you want to be). I took Hunter with my 2nd pick at 14 based on his good non-conference numbers. I also drafted Lipsey at 43. Through 12 games Lipsey has 281.2 fantasy points and Hunter has 182.2. I feel like I made a poor pick! I imagine Texas feels worse!

If anyone wants more information on how to run one of these or wants the blank spreadsheet I would be more than happy to share it. When we started this we only did 6 players and you had to have 3 G and 3 F/C. We evolved to add 2 bench players in case of injury, suspension, etc. and eventually scrapped the position requirements as well.

Below I added in the league roster and how each player has scored. The number in parentheses under PLAYER is where they were picked in the draft. You'll notice we all missed drafting Kalscheur. Not sure how that happened.

Could put together one on CF next year using a point value. Put together a team with x number of points. I'm not volunteering but I know someone on here would. Maybe have a 6 man roster to include that top guy off the bench.

This reminds me what it was like to do FFL back in 1989 when I started.
