Going to Vikings game Sun the 30th and will be downtown Minneapolis during the Alamo Bowl. We are staying at the Embassy Suites and I need to know if there is a good Cyclone bar close?

It's a good idea to phone ahead once you are in town, but here are some possibilities:
  • Darby's Pub & Grill is adjacent to downtown and has been a Cyclone bar. That has been a trendy place for game watches: https://goo.gl/maps/6UKNdGRzUss
  • Joe Senser's Roseville is sure to have it on. They had 25-30 people there for the Liberty Bowl. They might be less crowded on a Friday: https://goo.gl/maps/T4wTSahETLE2
  • Joe Senser's Bloomington has been a longtime favorite. It is a bit of a night spot, so probably a good crowd on a Friday night: https://goo.gl/maps/HYwQTVDNU982

The Twin Cities Alumni Club has set up three locations for the Alamo Bowl gamewatch. Not all may be "hosted" by local alumni volunteers since it's over the holidays and we probably won't have enough volunteers to cover three locales. Here's the locations:
  1. Darby's Pub downtown Minneapolis, west warehouse district near Target Field.
  2. Joe Senser's Bloomington along I-494
  3. Park Tavern on Louisiana Ave in St. Louis Park
Not an official gamewatch locale but as noted above the manager at Joe Sensers Roseville location will always have the ISU games on. It's a good bowl and on at a good time for the bars. No other conflicting sports that night, local or national other than the Wild.

Best big screens for viewing are the Senser's locations. Best location for hitting other spots later would be Darby's since it is nestled into a brew pub area and adjacent to the warehouse district.
