Outside of Court Ave getting ****** and Omaha renovating the north end of downtown, I don’t see this. Very similar cities, IMO. Both pretty great.

Agree on the similar cities. Old Market is super cool - too bad Court isn't what it was 10 years ago, but still some fun places downtown.
What Omaha has that DSM doesn't that bumps them up is the CWS. That's a nice little economic boost they can count on every year.
Best reason to go is to visit Cedar Ridge and that even keeps you outside of city limits.
The decline of court has corresponded with the east village getting better though. Which is fine with me. As I get older if I'm gonna go out downtown I like those bars better anyway
Except Ankeny THINKS it's the greatest town in the United States.
Heck, my parents told me it was Skankeny when I was a small child 30 years ago.
