Picked up a bottle of this seasonal whiskey from Mississippi River Distilling in LeClaire.
Iowa grown wheat, aged in uncharred wine casks. Light in color, smooth.
Sampled in a glencairn glass with a single ice cube. Very mellow with strong vanilla notes. This appears to be a young whiskey, it has weak legs.
Strong entry in to the growing number of Iowa produced spirits. I would recommend fans of Templeton and Cedar Ridge make a point to pick up a bottle. It's a smaller bottle at 375ml, but highly enjoyable at a $22 price point.
