They can challenge the call when the call was made. It is the refs fault he called an early two. He should have let it play out before awarding the takedown. But the challenge and reversal was correct.

Some of these calls are just messed up. Don't overrule a call when its obvious the 2 was there a second later.
That's where a ref reviewing a call on his own will stand as it should. These off site refs clearly isn't any better!
At least in this situation it screwed a kid, that's not right.

Is it just for the NCAAs that it is done offsite, thought it was done matside at the big12s
