Probably a few years based on when he can get back in town. Freds was not the next year, but the year after that.

We dont retire numbers, but to have his jersey hanging will take 5 years minimum, but prob closer to 10. It will happen though.

Id say 2-4 years. Its not good to do it right away. I think its aways better to reflect for a few years to really appreciate what just happened. The last 4 years went by so fast. Too fast.

Nah. You wait 3 years. You bring him back for Georges Niang night. Bring in recruits. Make a night of it. 1st game next season is to soon. Give it a couple years so he can come back and make it more special.

Niang should be the quickest jersey to hang. No one has combined excellent play, wins, leadership and great representation and promotion of ISU for 4 years like Georges. No one is close in my book.

We all know it'll be hung at some point. No need to rush into it. I know everybody loved Ejim but Im sure many less people thing his jersey should be hung now, than the day after his career ended....

While I get your point and I still think his should go up too. Anyone who thinks Niang shouldn't go up is an idiot.

Yeah, 2nd all time leading scorer, all time winner, first Cyclone with 4 straight tournaments, leading Cyclone scorer in tournament history.

If there was ever a time to expedite something, this is the time.

I think you wait until the rest of his teammates are gone. It wouldnt feel right to be watching Morris (hopefully), Naz, and Thomas out there for a game with Georges getting his jersey hung. With the number of upperclassmen on this team I think you could do it the year after next at the earliest.

Some of it may also depend on his pro career. To me, it's something you do when their basketball career is over, but if he looks to be able to have a long NBA career then I don't think you wait that long. If he fizzles out in 2-3 years I think you do it shortly after that.

It should be hanging in there before he gets back from Chicago. Dude is the epitome of what we ask for in a Cyclone.

I ******* teared up just typing this. This is going to be a hard off season for me.

What finally got me was the picture Cyclones Men's basketball posted to Facebook of Georges hugging Coach Prohm on his final exit. Made it real.
