1. Scored more points against K State than Auburn, Texas and Texas Tech combined.

2. Scored more points vs. a Charlie Strong Defense than anyone ever has.

3. Is in the middle of the pack in the Big 12 in Scoring Offense, 3rd Down Conversion %, and completion %. Stats that have been often cited as barriers to our success in the Big 12 the last few years.

4. Lead the conference in Red Zone scoring.

I know we still have some deficiencies and the most important stat is W's. But I really like the direction Mangino is taking us and would love to see him be the highest paid coordinator in the conference by season end.

I actually approve of the sentiment in this thread, but just wanted to drop this in here:

Oh, I was thinking offensive silver linings like "man, she's ugly, but at least she has nice t**s"
And if you said that as an analogy about Iowa State Football and our offense when it is firing I would agree. Give me a 12 beers and Iowa State looks like a Big 12 team I want to take home. Then I wake up in the morning and wonder what the hell happened.

Remember, you only have to chew your arm off twice in the morning. After that you can just quietly leave your prosthetic limb there and go buy a new one.

Wow. #2 is crazy. I had to check on my own to make sure you weren't pulling my chain. Good find.

Our offense is solid. The bottom line is, they sucked in the first 2-3 weeks or so, but since then, they've played well enough to win. Our defense has been the problem this season, which is a new feeling I guess.

Birds don't have nipples. They throw up into the mouths of their young to feed them.
If you think about it though, Cy is actually half-bird, half-tornado. Do tornadoes have nipples? They have eyes, right?

Question about #4
Is that total points? %?

I would ASSume it's scoring period, so it would include field goals as well. If that is indeed the case then we could score twice as much (with field goals) as another team scores (with touchdowns) and still lose. Would be interesting to see points/ red zone trip but I don't know where to get stats like that.
