I wonder if they may have dialed up the intensity of the radar last night, as there were "debris balls" all over the place that maybe weren't (and hopefully weren't) as dire as they looked. Ed Wilson seemed to allude to that possibility (can't remember his phrasing, but said something to the effect that sometimes they tweak the settings). That one over Pleasant Hill looked striking on radar to say the least.

I’m very glad everyone is safe and no one got hurt. With what I do weather events are helpful to business but I never hope for what happened yesterday.

We have a small company based in Urbandale and our team will be out this morning assessing damage to roofs/siding/etc. If you or anyone you know is needing assistance please let us know.

Watching Omaha tv stations and couldn’t believe all the people driving toward the tornados that weren’t first responders. Tornado directions can veer drastically, unlike those yesterday.

Some of the best tornado footage and photos I've ever seen from yesterday's storms. Wind wasn't bad in Johnston, just dumped rain with some crazy lightning as the sirens were going off around 8:30pm, then again around 11:00pm.

Checking in and marking myself safe from the monster we had in Utah on Thursday.

Not my photo … credit some guy on the internet.

Has anyone heard about how much damage there was in Pleasant Hill? Also heard a rumor of a touchdown near or on the state fairgrounds.

Yeah, now that everyone is walking around with a video camera in their pocket, it's amazing how much up close tornado video is available.
