Offense looked somewhat competent until it got to the red zone - which in some ways is surprising (the competency when there was none up to this point) and in some ways so par for the course (as we're often incompetent in the red zone).

Passing is killing it, runs up the middle aren’t, but don’t tell Manning that. Finally calls a run not up the middle, but it was obviously a run play so it didn’t matter. ******* hate Tom Manning.

No offense to anyone in particular, but our running backs are subpar this year.
They are simply adequate. Not to mention less than 100% healthy and probably won't be the rest of the year. Our run blocking also doesn't help them our at all.

I’ve said this before. We should never run the ball again when we are anywhere near the 10yard line. It’s just a waste of a down. Take 3 shots in the end zone and call it good.

That was a really stupid throw there. Those usually get picked and taken the other way for TDs. Lucky we escaped it. Dekkers cannot be that risky with the ball down in the redzone like that..... it has cost him several times this year.

Good drive though! This OU defense is not good.... we should be able to put up quite a few points today.

Obviously having two weeks of self reflection did nothing for our red zone offense. Same old play calls, same results.

Receivers are getting some separation which is good. Because it's probably going to have to be a big play to score. Red zone offense is bad as usual.

OU's D is not good. Let's just continually run up the middle when we do run. Let's run heavy packages & throw out of them rather than just continue spreading them out. Let's play right into their hands & let them dictate the style of game rather than the opposite. Where are the plays designed to get Dekkers rolling out, like in the 2nd half of Texas game. Nice plays inside the red zone their, Tom. Next will be all of the runs into the boundary - that'll fool them for sure!

We haven't ran the ball well all year on a compressed field. When your line consistently loses battles AND some of the design is flawed you don't even have a chance. From the moment the ball was snapped there weren't enough blockers for that play to work. You just gave up a down and lost yardage on a play that had 5% chance of "working". Why would you call that?

It honestly comes down to stubbornness. Campbell has always wanted to be the team that pushes the other team around. Even when he doesn't have the dogs to do it.
