Anybody else feel this way? Just bothers me. Seems like people make them to replace other existing threads, too, which is pointless.

I'm not necessarily saying they should all go away, but can anything be done about this before we have ten ***OFFICIAL*** threads in a row? We are getting to the point where we will have an ***OFFICIAL Spring Football Long Snapper Discussion*** thread and others like it.

Yeah it's not necessary. I don't mind it for the game day threads but there's too many. It doesn't bother me a whole lot though.

Re: ***OFFICIAL*** threads getting out of hand

You are contributing to the problem with your ***official*** thread.

This thread is not official. It is about the "***OFFICIAL***" thread epidemic. You misinterpreted the title.

I disagree. Now, I no longer spend countless hours trying wade through the unofficial threads. I can go straight to the official ones. No muss, no fuss.

I like them personally. they should be for events only.

Examples: Games, Press Conferences, etc

Please direct you questions about the relevance of CyFan61's supposition to the new official thread.

Yeah, lets make a bunch of rules about when to use asterisks and then we can talk down to people if they use them in the incorrect setting.

Lets make these ***OFFICAL*** rules too! Make it a bannable offense.

Re: ***OFFICIAL*** threads getting out of hand

It says official. I see asterisks. It's official.

Not so fast, my friend. The asterisks are only around the word official. For a thread to be truly *** OFFICIAL ***, the thread title must be all caps, the minimum number of asterisks must be met, AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, the asterisks must be on either side of the full title, not just one of the words in the title.
