I’m curious, who on this board pays for picks? I’ve had good experiences but I feel like most think people who sell picks are scammers.

I have never but have a friend who is much more into sports betting than I am (talking serious money) that pays for at least two guys and has made a lot of money off of them

95% are scams - I've posted on this board about it before but I'm in a "pool" where we pay for picks from a couple outlets and track their performance, often creating our own trends to use off of theirs.

Yeah I’ve made a pretty good chunk of money doing the same. I feel like with some reasonable due diligence it’s fairly easy to weed out dishonest sellers.

I have 3 subscriptions which combined are $270/month and then I paid a couple people one for cbb and one for nfl $350 a piece which covers the whole season.

I went through half of this year on one subscription at $100/month and then ended up adding others once I had room for more volume

I don't wager crazy amounts on anything. A unit for me is $5 and I rarely bet more than 2 units on anything even if I'm very confident. Just my conservative nature. But I do have a sub to the Action Network which I think runs $80/year. I feel like I get enough out of it. Sharp signals, comparisons across different sports books, where the public money is going as opposed to sharp money, plus they have "expert" picks and analysis behind their paywall. They also have free podcasts for anyone who is interested in getting some free picks, although with those you can kind of get what you are('nt) paying for at times.

Why pay for picks when you can just go to the UNI1ISU2 thread every day, bet against whatever he picks, and win every time???

There was a TikTok account of a couple college dudes who hit like 75% of their picks over the course of 3-4 months using some algorithms. It was incredible.

Understandably, they decided to start making people pay, and they ended up absolutely falling apart in their picks. I don’t think they exist anymore.

My picks take is that if they have an actual edge, they'd most likely use it to directly make money in Vegas.

Why don't they do it? Because their picks aren't above 51%. If they claim its better, it's usually because they have multiple pick sets

Follow my buddy @parlay3way. He finds lines on all the apps that give the bettor huge value.
