I hate to start a thread but does anyone have stats on how many lazy passes at the top of the key have led to a layup? Since the TCU game it's been a major problem.

Well it seems like that’s a big part of our offense, so you would think you can overplay the wings and at the top and get an easy turnover.

I think the point is to have the ball instead of not have the ball, but I’ve never thought about it deeply.

It’s like ice cream. I know I like it. It’s a gut thing.

They really need to mix in the occasional back door cut to keep the defense honest, kind of like the deep pass in football.

Here’s a comparison of total points off turnovers in all conference games:

Of course, this isn’t just points off of turnovers from lazy passes, but it was the quickest stat to go through. Another issue we seem to have is committing those awful turnovers at the worst times as well, such as today near the end. Doing deeper tracking on that might require a detailed rewatch of the games unless someone knows of a free site with those advanced stats. I pulled these numbers from cyclones.com
