For the past month, questions, debates and all of the above have been brought to our attention here at CF about what our record for Football is gonna be, and what our record for Basketball is gonna be. Realizing the dramatic polls, and posts on this site I have decided to ask a major question.. Who is gonna have the better season, the basketball team, or the Football team??

They need to have a good football season this year. With all of that offense that is returning there is no reason ISU shouldn't put up less than 30 points a game. They have too many weapons.

I expect the football team to go 7-5, for a 58% winning percentage.

I expect basketball to be 16-14 again, for a 53% winning percentage. So I'll go with football.

It depends what you constitute as a "better" season...its almost not comparable, one one hand you have a team coming back with 10 of 11 starts on offense and promising young athletes with high expectations.....on the other hand, you have a completely depleted team (minus a couple players) with a new coach and new backcourt...

I was always under the impression that the better teams won more games at a higher percentage. But that's just me I guess. ;)

Thats still subjective in itself......MBB plays a bunch of cake teams, while the FB team plays 1 or 2 at the most

BryceC, you a baseball fan? It seems you do love the stats. Every post seems to have a lot of stats. Not a knock on you, just curious.

I would have to go with football the offense will be good and the d will force a ton of turnovers. I have never seen that much speed on the football field before at ISU.

16-14 is one of the reasons wayne morgan is gone don't you think McD is going to have a better season than that.

I certainly hope McDermott has a better season than 16-14, and none of us knows what will happen until then. I also like to follow recruiting, but we really don't know well any of these guys will play in the big 12 either.

I have hope and faith in McDermott's ability, but that is a lot of turnover to expect an excellent season.

That being said, I could see a 17 or 18 win season easily. I think we win 7 conference games, it just depends on how we do in the non-conference.

CTAClone: And yes, I do like baseball a lot. I'm a Royals fan though, so I pretty much get out of the loop by June. Plus, I am a construction worker so I get very busy in the summer and have a hard time keeping up with stuff going on in the sports world.

You will probably find this funny/incredibly dorky, but I kept track of our team's stats last year in my co-rec softball league. I even was keeping track of the WHIP of our pitcher for a while, but with all of the hits in softball that got really tedious. It's just something I enjoy.

Do not forget the girls basketball team. Who will do better - the boys or the girls?
