Why does it seem like all the QBs in the NFL have a green dot on the back of their helmets?

That is a good question. I was noticing that too. I was wondering if it had anything to do with the audio they get from the coach on the sideline, like an antenna or something.

it is so the refs know they are the player with audio to coaches because there is only 1 aloud on the field on the offensive side of the ball and i do not think defense is aloud to have one

(its just a sticker)

It's a new thing in the NFL this year. The green dot indicates the helmet has a radio inside. Only one helmet with a radio is allowed on the field at any time, and the green dot lets the refs make sure that's the case.

In the Green Bay game they talked about that because Farve had to change helmets because the communication device was not working. Only 1 player on offense can wear a helmet with a communication device in it so that is why they are marked the announcers were saying.

I have a question then, when Seneca checks is as a wideout does he need to have a seperate helmet without the audio equipment in it?

That's also why Seneca has to have 2 separate helmets, and an equipment guy around to make sure he has the right one.

The stickers were in place at the start of the season, perhaps even in preseason.

At what point does someone get accused of stealing signs via radio transmission?

they have NFL officials taht monitor all the radio air-waves at the game for this purpose! They have a big thing either on teh sideline or in the pressbox that monitors all frequencies of each team, and if that frequency doesn't work they have to switch it to a different frequency. You hear of that every so often when their radio doesn't work they have to switch frequencies.

lol....this is exactly what I was thinking. Personally I think if you are smart enough to crack the other teams code and pick up there signals they should change there signals, you shouldn't be punished for good observation.
