Wondering if anyone has had a radon mitigation system installed recently. If so what kind of system did you have installed and how much did it end up costing? I am seeing anywhere from $1,000-$2,500 online. Does this range seem correct?

Paid $700 but that was 10 years ago. If your house already has a vent tube it should be cheaper.

Our last house we had one put in and it was $1,500 - I think by Des Moines Radon or something like that. Our current house we also had them put it in but made the builder pay for it.

With the test, it was around $1300.00 for me three years ago. Good investment if you live in Iowa

Got mine done for about $1000. I live in Ankeny and the company that did mine was out of Ames. I am glad I got it done.

Paid $1000 20 years ago. The initial install did not lower the radon levels to the guaranteed level...company had to put in an extra 40 feet of pipe to get the radon level below 4.0(at no extra cost). Pre-install measurement was 16.

Well worth the cost.

Had ours put in by Central Iowa Radon a few years ago, think it was about $1,300. Ours is a new-ish house, they were able to core a hole in the slab and take the vent straight out of the house from there. Also had easy access to a power source to hook up for the vent pump fan. Cost probably varies depending on how much vent piping they have to run, and how accessible the area is they need to work in.

Good dudes to work with, highly recommend. https://centraliaradon.com/

If you do it, try and make sure pipe/fan isn't by your bedroom window. Know someone that happened to, now they have a constant hum.

I think ours was $1200 six years ago. Pretty simple actually. They built a box over our sump tank and installed an acrylic top. They ran a pipe up through the garage attic.

As I recall, they put the cost of the test toward the price of the mitigation system.

ZRadon out of Ames did mine here in Johnston.

The cost to install your radon reduction system is
$1,400.00
plus tax $98.00
Total:$1,498.00 and will be due before or upon installation of the mitigation system.

It went from 20.7 to 0.5.

This could be fun. Give the wife a little extra while givin her the beans and see if you can get your gauge to tick up

Rathert was the company I went with. Sorry it took me so long to remember.
