Common carp release some sort of fermones or similar to warn others of a threat. They are an older species than bass etc but are more advanced in that way.

"One aspen tree is actually only a small part of a larger organism. A stand or group of aspen trees is considered a singular organism with the main life force underground in the extensive root system. Before a single aspen trunk appears above the surface, the root system may lie dormant for many years until the conditions are just right, including sufficient sunlight. In a single stand, each tree is a genetic replicate of the other, hence the name a “clone” of aspens used to describe a stand.

Older than the massive Sequoias or the biblical Bristlecone Pines, the oldest known aspen clone has lived more than 80,000 years on Utah’s Fishlake National Forest. Not only is the clone the oldest living organism, weighing in at an estimated 6,600 tons, it is also the heaviest. Even if the trees of a stand are wiped out, it is very difficult to permanently extinguish an aspen’s root system due to the rapid rate in which it reproduces."

Herbert Hoover’s life span (1874-1964) overlapped with the lifetime of 28 other U.S. presidents, beginning w/ Andrew Johnson and continuing (so far) through Joe Biden. (Grover Cleveland is counted only once, of course). It was close to 29 — Hoover was born five months after the death of Millard Fillmore.

A sixth graders science fair project completely changed the way Florida is treating invasive Lionfish.

Undoubtedly because of the bi-fold stand-up poster board:

Not exactly sure.
The Eiffel Tower gets taller in the summer.

Due to a process what boffins would call 'thermal expansion' the Paris landmark gains a few centimetres in the hot weather. The heat from the sun makes the metals used to stretch ever so slightly, but in the winter, it returns to its original height.

Vive la science!

So it shrinks in the cold, I can understand that.

Here's another. If you laid all the economists in the world on the ground end to end they would not reach an accurate conclusion.

Interesting facts. More pigs in Iowa than people. #1 in the U.S.

I'm the life of the party with those facts outside of the Midwest when asked about Iowa. A useless fact.
If you remove Hawkeyes from the number of pigs, does it get closer?
