Don't know much about him besides he was a good recruit out of HS. Michigan State, Arizona, Kansas, Oregon and UCLA all wanted him but he went JUCO for a year. Originally signed with Oregon out of HS but wasn't cleared academically. Sit one play two

I'm all for having an athletic big visit and staff deciding if he is worth it.

I agree with this. It's been tough getting athletic big men to come aboard. Even if he doesn't make a huge splash, having a Daniel Edozie type player on your bench when needed is not a bad thing. Best case scenario he surprises us and plays solid minutes, worst case scenario he is a large body that we haven't had in many of.

This. Although my guess he is better than Edozie. I don't know who offered Edozie, but the KU's, MSU's and Arizons's of the world do not get interested unless they think you will help.

Some back ground on Kosongo. He wasn't impactful as a sophomore but, as with all young bigs it often takes them to mature to fulfill their potential. Has some good size and high major offers out of HS (signed with Oregon but didn't make it to campus) and good transfer destinations. Sit one play two. From Toronto originally could have connections to Naz.

This seems like a situation where he visits and scrimmages with our guys, then a decision about offering him a scholarship is made.

Unless he is a hidden gem, he didn't do much at Tennessee or Idaho before that

Looks like he is more of defensive presence than what he contributes on offense. Love his defense around the rim.

Obviously if he is the right fit and coaches offer then its a good thing. And usually a sit 1 play 2 guy (big or not) is a good thing. Just sucks this time because we could use 1 extra big with immediate eligibility IMO.

With the lack a transfer news combined with 2 yrs of eligibility and the amount of schollies opening up I think this is a no brainer. We haven't had decent depth in the front court for a long time
