Rule Change

Hadn't seen this mentioned yet so thought I'd post it.

NCAA committee approves several rules changes for men's, women's basketball - ESPN

My thoughts: Don't like the 3-foot "no-charge" area under the basket. Will the refs be allowed to stop play and review this? I don't think the 10-second rule will make it through exhibition play.

The no-charge area is long overdo, although most of the referees I know of automatically call anything under the rim a block already. A defender shouldn't be rewarded for setting under the rim and getting posterized.

Ive never actually understood why the women dont have a time limit to get the ball across half court.

It's a holdover from the 6 on 6 days, I believe. Players were not allowed to cross half court at the time. 3 behind the line, 3 in front.

Then again I could be wrong and making all this up.

So there will only be 1 3-point line now. Thats good news to me!

glad we'll be able to clearly see the 3-point line now on all courts, except maybe oregon's
