Lol, I never said a word about any median or police escort. I was watching ESpN this morning and one of the reporters stated it was around 20 yards.
It was Cyhig that mentioned jumping the median in post 216. I understand the confusion between you two in this thread.

You’re right. My bad. CyHig said that.

In post 61, NoCreativity insinuated Scheffler put his hands in the officer.

There was an officer in my area in the last couple months who responded to a domestic assault/hostage incident. He carefully approached the assailant and asks if he has any weapons. Assailant says no. Cop negotiates his way into the home, agreeing not to bring his weapon as a sign of trust (and does so since assailant says no weapons were on site). After a few hours of negotiating, things turned quickly. Assailant grabs an assault rifle he was hiding and kills the cop, another cop, and a paramedic tending to one of the cops.

I was able to watch the funeral procession from my office. The procession of first responder cars lasted over 90 minutes with people lining the streets showing their support

Was this story anywhere near what happened today? Not remotely close. But cops are wired differently. They can’t make assumptions like you and I can. If they do, they may not make it home to their families.

We do need some self reflection and appreciate our first responders. Do they make mistakes sometimes? Of course. They are human. Are there some horrible at their jobs? Yes, just like any other job. But often their mistakes are generally in an abundance of caution to the public they are serving. They don’t have an easy job and many cities are struggling having enough first responders on their force. So I will reserve my full judgement about this officer until the complete story is released. Like I said, based on what we know now, I would be shocked is felony charges remained and the worst offense will be a traffic citation. But let’s not jump all over our first responders.

Why was the cop pulling Scheffler out of the car? And then immediately slamming him up on the car and handcuffing him. This cop‘s actions are not relatable at all. And immediate escalation shows this cop needs to find another job.

I heard one radio shortly after it happened about jumping the median. Turns out he was driving on the wrong side of the road. Pretty much same thing

I don’t know. To best answer that question we should answer the question that instigated the entire events. Why did the cop target Scheffler in the first place? Always best to start at the very beginning when investigating events

We have eyewitness accounts. According to them the cop over reacted in an alarming way. They found it appalling. A complete investigation into a troubled police department is warranted.

So then answer the question: why did the cop target Scheffler?

Because Scheffler tried to go around the scene to enter the club. It’s not that complicated.

You’re acting like this cop got inside intelligence from the CIA, that Scheffler is a deep state incel

But it was reported he was doing the same thing as everyone else. So what did he do that was different to draw the attention?

I’ll answer for you: we don’t know yet. It could be a number of things, including simply having a bad cop. Let the full investigation come out before we draw conclusions. Thats my point

There was no median to jump.
Correct. I heard on the radio early this morning when details were still sketchy he jumped the median. There wasn’t one. But he did drive on the wrong side of the road. If you jump the median, guess what happens? You drive on the wrong side of the road. Amazing how that works

Look at the road in post 311. There would be a huge difference between Scheffler going around traffic to turn left into the club (which is what he did) and hopping a median into oncoming traffic.

And the cop very well may be one.

Let’s see. Cop who is not wearing a police uniform over reacts to hang on to a car which is a special tournament car with markings on the side. It takes a special kind of stupid to create a situation like he created. No “may be”. He is.

According to the official police report, Scotty was driving on the wrong side of the road. See post #182
