Nowhere and Everywhere
Headed skiing in a couple weeks and have a few set of skis I’d like to get edged and waxed. Anyone know of any place in central Iowa to have that done. Would rather get it done before we leave instead of trying to get it done while in CO.

Other option would be to just finally learn to do it myself.

Think there's a ski place in Boone can't vouch for them as I've never been

Jax sharpened my ice skates so I bet they can do skis.

Not exactly sure.
Drive through the auto car wash with them upside on the roof. I have a side grinder if you want to save a couple bucks edging them.

I don’t think anyone in central Iowa even sells skis anymore. Maybe call 7 Oaks in Boone and see if they know anybody that’s tuning skis. It would be nice if someone around here would do that.

When I go out skiing I usually just drop them off at Christy Sports on the first night I get into town. They have them done by morning. Not that big of a deal really and it always seems like there is a liquor store near a Christy’s. I usually do more drinking than skiing anymore.

Wayne's Bike shop in Mason City still sharpens skis I believe. 641-423-2851.

Learn to hot wax your skis yourself.
Saves $ and its kind of nice to do some night with a few beers. It does get messy and scraping the wax off gives your forearms and shoulders a good workout.

If you want to learn, this is the best DIY video on youtube for waxing. Its a snowboard here, but its the same process with skis.
