I would like to put my vote in for Ride the Lightning by Metallica. Since we open with the storm warning I thought that it would be fitting as our entrance music.

I like it, but Iowa does that already I think so no thanks. I think something like Metallica's Small Hours would get the crowd going. It would get me going.

It really should be up to the players. The only downside is most of the fans wont care for the song as much.

Why do some keep saying it should be up to the players?
The intro music is probably just as important in helping get the crowd fired up as anything else. If you don't think that is important, then yes, pick some song that will have the crowd half-*** clapping (at best).
If instead you think there is a benefit to help get the crowd fired up (and entertain them so they keep coming back), then maybe leaving it up to the players isn't the best option.
I have an idea and it is really simple as far as I'm concerned. Why don't we start with the cyclone weather alert, and then break into the intro video. At the end the team runs out to the fight song. I really think the biggest problem is it just takes to long.

Leaning towards what you said. Crowd is going nuts typically when that weather alert goes off. It's eerie and just insights a feeling of hostility IMO.

I don't like today's rap, but blare some hoodrat music as loud as it will go. Most big-time programs put on what their players want to hear. Freakin' KU basketball, in all their weird rituals in one of the most historic venues in sports, plays loud rap music, and the place goes nuts.
I'm still sticking with Kid Rock Bawitdaba.
The build up from quiet to guitar and drum exploding.
The student section and those of us that can still get riled up will go nuts for that into beat and then when the explosion of drums comes the team comes out.
