So I Wrote a Blog About Jack Trice

I couldn't sleep and that whole twitter situation surrounding Jack Trice had me doing some research today. Take a read through my deep dive into Jack's life. I tried to source as accurately as I could, but .. it's late.. so apologies.

I think Jack Trice is the only FBS stadium named after an African American not the only college football stadium. Grambling’s stadium is named after Eddie Robinson isn’t it? There are probably others.

It took 16 more years until 1974, when the student government voted unanimously to put Jack Trice’s name on the newly built ISU stadium, which was denied by the administration.

I would add that the stadium was brand new when it was first proposed to name it after Jack.

Thanks for the feedback all. I did some digging on that, lower than 1-A schools that had it, but nothing came up. Thanks for checking me on that. It has been edited.
