Interesting note about her parents

“Basketball runs deep in the Soares family. Her mother, Susan, started 97 games at Texas under Jody Conradt, while her father, Rogerio, and three of her siblings have all played basketball at The Master's.”

What’s the scouting report? Doesn’t appear to be much of a shooter.

6’6 and athletic, doesn’t need to be a shooter. Averages 20pts albeit against NAIA. Looks to be a taller Welle, and I don’t take that lightly. I won’t quite put those expectations on her, but she possesses the attributes to be that kind of player in her 1 year here.

Sounds like a great addition. Any background on how a 5 start prospect lands at an NAIA school ?

Remove her 18-79 behind the arc, and she was 66% on 2pt FG this past season.

She also averaged over 3 blocks per game. Her first two seasons she was at nearly 5 blocks per game. She missed the 20-21 season with an ACL/MCL tear, so that might have affected her a bit last season (but not enough to keep her from being NAIA POY).

Her bio says she was ranked by ESPN as a 5-star prospect with a 96 scouts grade coming out of high school. Wonder why she ended up at The Master’s.

This will answer a lot of questions:

Would love to hear the story of how a Top-100 recruit ends up at a NAIA school

Watching the video, she moves and scores a lot like Jordao, but taller of course, and a better shot blocker

Her mom is the former Susan Anderson, if you're looking more into family history.

Anderson, 6-foot-4, averaged 11 points and nine rebounds in college. Longtime Texas Coach Jody Conradt remembers Anderson as a solid, all-around player.

“She was very physical and one of the best defensive players I’ve coached,” Conradt said. “She came in here touted as a scorer, but she became the total player by the time she left.”
