So am I the first one to name my new dog Steele or did one of you beat me to it?

I named my goldfish "Steel" back in 1997, but that had more to do with Shaquille O'Neal than it did with ISU's quarterback.

Sure you don't want to wait a few games into the season before you name him?

Worst come to worst, you could always say that you named your dog after Samatha Steele.

I think if the kid is a hit we have to work some Steely Dan in for some fun.

I'm not a fan of naming anything after an athlete or sporting reference. Reminds me too much of all the jackwads that have named their kids Hayden or Kinnick.

Good looking lab though.

Yes, because there is no difference between naming your kids and naming your pets...

I have no problem with my g/f naming our puppy Trice.

My brother named his Golden Lab puppy Husker. Two years later he gave the dog away. She had to be the most worthless animal on earth.

My dog's name is Oliver. Maybe I'm a closeted Steve Alford-era-Hawkeye-basketball fan?

Seriously though, I pushed for Rhoads. This was one of those battles I let the girlfriend win. I also wouldn't name my kids after our stadium or something like that.
