I am really happy for Dan, he has a great gig down there and it may have just gotten sweeter.

Me too. I really hope he is the guy. I just don't know they will give it too him. I think he is doing a great job and I think he would continue to do a great job, I just have a bad feeling.

Even if it isn't a long term thing, I would have to think he would be the DC for the Sugar Bowl at least.

With Charlie Strong being named Louisville’s head coach, Florida will need to find a new defensive coordinator.
A top option would be assistant head coach/defensive line Dan McCarney. Another possibility: Ole Miss defensive coordinator Tyrone Nix. Nix has forged a strong reputation throughout the SEC, also working as defensive coordinator at South Carolina. It was Nix’s Ole Miss defense that helped engineer a big win in Gainesville in 2008, the lone Florida defeat during its run to the national title.
