KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Iowa State senior guard Kelsey Bolte was a unanimous selection to the All-Big 12 first team leading a trio of Cyclones earning honors from the Big 12 Monday morning. Sophomore Chelsea Poppens earned a spot on the Big 12 All-Defensive Team and rookie Hallie Christofferson was named to the All-Freshman Team. The accolades are voted on by the leagues coaches.
Bolte, a senior from Ida Grove, Iowa, has had a career year this season, averaging a career-best 17.1 points per game. The 17.1 points per game is nearly seven points higher than her career average. Bolte tied for second in the Big 12 making 81 3-pointers this season. Bolte had 12 20-point games this season, including seven games where she scored 25 or more points.
