Agree. We deserve to be ranked. And it does matter. Don't be a jerk to a guy asking a legit question even if does ask after every win.

It sure will seem odd seeing an unranked ISU team in the 3rd place spot and a top 15 Baylor in the 4th spot for conference standings. Something doesn't make sense there. I think ISU breaks in 22-24 range.

Will be a 5 seed in the NCAA's after winning the Big 12 tournament and one of the hottest teams in the country.

Someone had to do it.

And that someone is usually you.

I'm at the point now where I would really rather we don't get rated. I don't really think about it being an under the radar thing, I'm just more of the thought that we've gone this long without it, so why change it. It doesn't change anything going forward for us.

The only reason I would think otherwise is for the players. If it's a big deal to them, they've obviously deserved it.

Unless Mizzou runs the table in KC, there isn't a snowball's chance in you-know-where that Mizzou is a 1 seed in the NCAAs. If any team from the Big XII is getting that, it's KU.

Having said that, I think we're ranked in the AP, but just outside the top 25 in the coaches poll.

I agree--there's no way they give 2 #1 seeds to the Big 12, so it will be Missery or Kansas, and the only way Missery gets it is by winning the tournament.

My picks:

Syracuse
Kentucky
Kansas
UNC

Look at it in context, too: Virginia lost, and Gonzaga has a tough game against BYU later tonight. Virginia could be on their way out, so that might be the spot we take.

Go away.

We went 1-1 this week, so no.

Your wrong. 1-1 with a close loss against a Top 10 team and a win against a Top 10 team. Plus, Virgiina #24 lost. If you don't look at the 1-1 record in context you won't see the whole picture.

We'll be 25 in the AP. And it is important for exposure and recruiting.

Slim chance in the AP, Virginia lost to FSU who was ranked 22. Coaches - probably not.

Our loss was to the #8 team, and was on the road (unlike UVA)...so their loss "outweighs" ours. Our win was over a Top Ten team; if UVA wins, it will be over a moribund UMD squad.

I think we take their spot. Especially if Gonzaga loses tonight.

I'm just hoping this win gets us off the 8/9 seed.

Nah, top 25 indicates a 5 seed, I like the 6-7 sleeper, Recruits will notice win 2 and a damn good shot at win 3 in the tourney more so than a cameo appearance in the top 25...

I think we COULD be #25 or even #24. We went 1-1 this week, but the 1 loss was at Missouri which we almost won. Beat a top 10 team and we were #27 right before this. I'm not 100% sure if we'll be ranked, but I think we very well might be #25 or #24.

IMO, we are at least a 7 seed and maybe a 6 seed now. We have proved we can play with anyone. We are greatly improved.

Sorry, the numbers just don't work out that way. If you seed your teams in the order of their top 25 ranking, the 25th rated team is going to have to settle for a 7 seed:

1-4 = 1
5-8 = 2
9-12 = 3
13-16 = 4
17-20 = 5
21-24 = 6
25 = 7
